Happy August - It’s Time to Book Your Ski House!

While we may still be in the balmy days of August, enjoying the beach, for those of us who look forward to an annual ski vacation with friends, it’s time to start thinking about locking in our mountain house or condo.

When to Book

The booking period for North America’s ski towns kicks into high gear after Labor Day, though there is already ample booking activity at this time.

If you are thinking about a weekend ski trip during a non-holiday period, and you are flexible as to the kind of property you rent, you should be able to find a home or condo with relative ease if you book in the early fall. Of course, if there is a specific property that you are interested in, you should try and secure it as early as possible.

However, keep in mind that if you are interested in booking a ski condo or home in Utah or Colorado, or anywhere else for that matter, during a holiday period, or during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, you will want to plan well ahead. There is no set rule, but start looking eight months out to ensure you can find a property that will fit your needs. There is simply a lot of competition for those peak periods.
